A classic of all times, whenever Cagney and Bogart teamed up together is was destined to be a CLASSIC.
This movie Cagney stars with Pat O`Brien, Humphrey Bogart, Ann Sheridan and George Bancroft. (And must not forget about The Dead End Kids) Cagney plays Rocky Sullivian, a notorious criminal who returns to visit his old neighborhood. Pat O` Brien is Father Connelly, his childhood buddy who disapproves of Rocky's bad influence on the street urchis who idolize him. But the odds finally catch up to Rocky following a shooting spree with a local hood (Bogart), forcing him to confront Father Connelly's plea to save the boys from following his misguided footsteps. An ending of all endings, a movie directed by Michael Curtiz.
"You know how to whistle, don't you? You just put your lips together and blow" With these words, Lauren Bacall burned her name into film history.
Nineteen year old Lauren Bacall makes her sizzling screen debute opposite Humphrey Bogart. The film that first brought the legendary couple together. The setting is the German-controlled Island of Martinique, 1940. Bogart plays a cynical American expatriate swept up in the fighting of the french resistance and swept off his feet by an alluring young drifter (Bacall). Supporting players, Walter Brennan, Hoagy Carmichael and Dolores Moran. Screenplay by Jules Furthman and William Faulkner.
Remember to live for today, but do not forget about tomorrow. :-)
Glad to see you guys stopped by. Saying Hi to Joanie, Keri & Joe, Shawn & Kevin, Lisa & Kraig, Jen & Russ, Vicky & Gary and not to forget Mom & Tim. ;-)
